Cheerleading & dance championships start with solid foundations in tumbling and dance, since cheerleading demands all squad members have a solid base in agility, balance, flexibility and training techniques.
Tumbling - Girls (1Hour)
Tumbling classes are geared toward cheerleaders or dancer’s routines. Our main focus is on the backhand-spring. We use a spring floor, tumble track and trampoline for this class. Girls start with a cardio warm up and stretch. Class starts with basic bridges and forward rolls, handsprings and jumps. We work on cartwheels and round-offs after basic floor. Then we work on standing back-springs and back tucks.
Our program is progressive and focused on each individual’s ability and level.
When ready, girls can work on tumbling from a round of back handspring, front handsprings, roundoff back handspring, tuck, layout or fulls. The class ends with flexibility and strength exercises enabling students to build strength and agility for their skills.
As competition has grown, cheerleaders and dancers have realized proper technique for backhand springs, cartwheels and roundoffs need to be learned correctly by trained instructors.
